Stunning Snow Canyon Park Vow Renewal

Couple, Elopements

I had the privilege of shooting Laura and Will’s wedding in Birmingham 4 years ago. Laura reached out to me earlier this year and asked if I knew any photographers in Zion National Park in Utah to capture their anniversary photos/belated honeymoon trip. I said, “ummm….what about if I come???” 🤔 👏🏻

One of my top goals in my business for next year is to shoot more adventure elopements and couple shoots. I have spent years educating myself and gathering inspiration to really start living out that dream. This could not have landed in my lap at a more perfect time. So, Laura and I started planning! And Craig and I planned to make a week of it because it was out anniversary week!

The forecast was not looking great the day before our shoot. Laura and I were going back and forth via text on plan B. Rain was supposed to last all day in Zion that day and the next. Then, at 5 a.m. on the day of the shoot, Laura found Snow Canyon State Park was close by but was not having any rain. SO CRAZY. It turned out to be the best decision we could have ever made. There were barely any other people in the park which made for a special, quiet vibe. We had no rain and a great temperature. I was ready to get dark and moody in Zion, but I truly think it would have been too crowded and too messy. However, their beautiful rental tent made for the best moody, intimate getting-ready shots (see more in my stories). Love when things turn out perfectly imperfect. 👏🏻

Laura & Will, thank you for trusting us to make art with you guys. You two are beautiful, so uniquely you, and major troopers. It brings so much joy to my soul to get to capture the same people over and over again. To witness different stages of their life through my lens. What an honor that is.
