Congratulations on reaching this exciting milestone of your senior year! As you gear up for your senior portraits, it’s essential to make the most of your session to capture this special moment in your life.

Here are some valuable tips to ensure a successful and enjoyable senior portrait experience:

  1. Bring a Variety of Outfits: If you choose my 1 hour package, plan on bringing multiple outfits that reflect your style and personality. Coordinate your outfits with the location and theme of your shoot. I have put together some inspo here
  2. Keep Clothing Simple: Opt for solid colors or subtle patterns that won’t distract from your face. Avoid logos, busy or tight stripe patterns, and overly bright colors.
  3. Choose Colors Wisely: Select colors that complement the background and enhance your features.
  4. Use Clothing to Accentuate Features: Dress to highlight your best features. Consider your body shape and choose outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable.
  5. Less is More with Jewelry: Avoid oversized jewelry that may overpower your face. Stick to classic pieces that won’t date your photos.
  6. Natural Makeup is Key: Aim for a makeup look that enhances your natural features. Steer clear of glittery or bold makeup that may not translate well in photos.
  7. Hair Matters: Stick to hairstyles you’re familiar with and avoid drastic changes right before the shoot. Bring necessary hair accessories for touch-ups during the session.
  8. Prep in Advance: Practice facial expressions and poses in front of a mirror to feel more confident during the shoot. Familiarize yourself with different looks to find what suits you best.
  9. Personalize with Props: Incorporate props that reflect your hobbies, activities, interests, or personal style to add a unique touch to your photos. And of course, bring that cap and gown!
  10. Bring a Friend: Consider bringing a friend to the shoot for support and assistance with outfit changes and posing. A friend can also help create a relaxed atmosphere and capture candid moments.
  11. Communicate with Your Photographer: Don’t hesitate to voice your preferences or concerns during the session. Your photographer is there to help you feel comfortable and confident.
  12. Plan Ahead: Try on outfits beforehand, plan your props and accessories, and communicate with your photographer to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Senior portraits are a special way to celebrate your achievements and mark this significant chapter in your life. By following these tips and approaching the session with enthusiasm and preparedness, you can create lasting memories that truly reflect who you are during this memorable time in your life. Enjoy the experience, relax, and have fun capturing this momentous occasion!
