Elopements

It doesn’t get much more relaxed than Taylor & Seth’s Pigeon Forge elopement in the mountains of Tennessee.  Their goal with their wedding and marriage as a whole was simple yet profound: honor God, honor each other, have fun, til death. Their shared perspective was the driving force behind their laid back and family centered ceremony (and their wedding day pickleball match!) From the moment everyone arrived at the cabin, excitement filled the fresh mountain air. Honestly, their day felt like one big, really happy exhale and I was honored to be a part of it.

A Casual Pigeon Forge Elopement

Well before I ever snap a single photo, I like to have in depth conversations with my couples about their vision for their wedding and their gallery. For the wedding itself, Taylor and Seth knew they wanted to have a chill, casual day spent with their family and friends. They wanted to, “go with the flow,” hang out with their loved ones, and genuinely enjoy their wedding. So, they planned a stay in a beautiful cabin in the mountains of Pigeon Forge with around 20 of their closest people. There was no travel to account for, no extreme stress, just a fun vacation with a small ceremony and celebration filled with cornhole and pickleball.

The Perfect Pigeon Forge Cabin Wedding

It was truly a genius move on Taylor & Seth’s part to choose an Airbnb cabin for the location of their Pigeon Forge elopement. With on-site lodging, a fully stocked kitchen, a pool table in the basement, stunning views, a spacious back yard for the ceremony itself, and a pickleball court on the property, this place really had it all. Not only was it a beautiful area for the ceremony, this location choice really contributed to the laid-back atmosphere they envisioned for their time with their guests.

This couple was the sweetest, most tender, and they played by their own rules. Instead of an over the top catered meal, Taylor’s mom made food and ordered pizza. So, once they said “I do,” the best kind of celebration began. There was lots of laughing, hugging, games, and eating pizza together at one big table, family-style. The cabin was spacious and had plenty of room for fun while still feeling cozy.

Eloping in Pigeon Forge Tennessee

Apart from the ceremony details, this couple knew exactly what they wanted from their wedding photos as well. In the early days of planning, they told me they wanted moody, documentary style photos that centered around the relationships with their guests on full display. We didn’t focus on pre-ceremony photos or wedding party portraits (since they didn’t have a wedding party), and instead focused on the candid little moments throughout the day. We did, however, have some fun with the couples portraits!  When eloping in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, it’s a non-negotiable to include the mountain scenery, but we also got some casual photos of the bride & groom on the pickleball court. Their gallery is out-of-the-box and  such a good reminder that an elopement doesn’t have to be perfect to be unforgettable!
